The Samsung Galaxy Note series will be back next year

This is according to a report from South Korea Yonhap News Agency. According to the news service, Samsung’s head of IT and mobile communications, Koh Dong-jin, who is known in the West as DJ Koh, said the company is skipping the launch of a new Note device this year because it would be difficult launch two flagship models with support for S Pen “within a year”.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the first non-Note phone from the South Korean giant to offer pen compatibility and rumors also suggest that the next The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with a digital stylus.
Barron’s writes that the global chip shortage is also behind the delay. The chip crunch poses serious challenges for the company and can also impact the production of medium and low-level phones.

Koh says the Note series will be back next year, but adds that its release schedule may change. The company tends to launch Note phones in the third quarter.

Increasing production of foldable devices remains a challenge as well, and the company is trying to expand capacity.

Superficially, it looks like Samsung is making a bet this year to see if an S Pen that advertises the Z Fold could absorb Note series users. If the bet fails, you can always resume the banknote range.
