Capcom has unveiled a cryptic teaser for Resident Evil Village asking players to complete the written parts of a written field record.
The teaser gives a vague idea of Ethan Winters’ latest situation when entering Resident Evil Village, which seems to have already taken the lives of some people. There are three parts to the memo, but a fan using NV on Twitter appears to have cracked the code using an image from the map included in Resident Evil 8 Collector’s Edition.

Report from “Casa Beneviento”, on a mission to inspect the “village”. Recent tracks and blood noticed along the route. The signs indicate dragged bodies. You will begin to register the occupants and activities of the Castle. #REBHFunFebruary 3, 2021
If you look closely, you can barely make out the edges of the first and last letters of each word written, and it looks like NV got it right. The note probably says: Report from Casa Beneviento, on a mission to monitor the village. Recent tracks and blood noticed along the route. The signs indicate dragged bodies. You will begin to register the occupants and activities of the castle.
The best part is the disclaimer “does not represent real gameplay” in the end, which exists just to remind you that this tattered and stained sheet of paper may look slightly different at launch.
Anyway, the message makes reference to the Castle of Dimitrescu, which you can explore in the Resident Evil Village demo, while Casa Beneviento is one of the four houses that we know from the Collector’s Edition map mentioned earlier. Along with Beneviento, are Casa Dimitrescu, Casa Heisenberg and Casa Moreau. As the four houses connect to each other, we have no idea, but we know that the favorite high vampire Resident Evil on the internet is in charge of one of them.
Here’s everything we know about Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village and what she may be telling us about the game’s story.
