The Queen’s pleasure in welcoming two new corgi dogs to her family – Royal Central

The Queen welcomed two new additions to her home – a pair of corgi puppies.

According The sun newspaper, His Majesty is delighted with the newcomers who live next to the monarch at Windsor Castle.

It is thought that the puppies were presented with the Queen. They also appear to be the first canines that are not direct descendants of the monarch’s first dog, Susan.

Before the arrival of the puppies, the Queen had only one dog – a dorgi (dachshund x corgi) named Candy.

The last corgi that His Majesty owned, Whisper, died in 2018.

The names and sex of each puppy have not been revealed, but they are undoubtedly helping their owner in some difficult times with her husband’s continued blockage and hospitalization.

The Queen’s corgis line originated from Susan, a corgi gifted to the then princess in her 18sº birthday in 1944. The Queen’s line of dorgis came from the creation of one of her corgis with one of Princess Margaret’s dachshunds, Pipkin, and there were four: Vulcan, Candy, Cider and Berry.

The news of His Majesty’s new canine additions is a surprise. It was previously reported that the Queen decided to have no more dogs, allegedly because she did not want to leave any young animals behind when she died.

Since her ascension in 1952, the Queen has owned more than 30 corgis. Her pets travel with her in the car or on a private plane and have even appeared in films with The Queen. In 2012, for the London Olympics, some of the Queen’s corgis appeared in the James Bond tribute film filmed at Buckingham Palace.
