A Louisiana striker plans to visit Arkansas as soon as the NCAA dead period is over.
Striker Cam East, 6-7, 280 pounds, from New Orleans (Louisiana) St. Augustine, said he will “definitely” visit Arkansas when the dead period ends.
It has offers from Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, the state of Florida, the state of Mississippi, Tulane and others. East paid a virtual visit to the Razorbacks on February 27.
“The highlight of the visit for me would probably be the weight room,” he said. “When I enter the weight room, I am comfortable and surrounded by the family. The weight room made me feel at home. “
• Four-star linebacker Jaron Willis remains in constant contact with Arkansas linebacker coach Michael Scherer.
He said they had a long and “deep conversation” on Tuesday.
Willis, 6-2, 220 pounds, from Leesburg (Georgia) Lee County, has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, the state of Florida, LSU, Michigan, Texas A&M, Miami, Nebraska and several other programs.
ESPN classifies Willis as a 4-star potential customer, No. 9 for security and No. 136 in general for the 2022 class. He is due to announce his top five schools on March 24th.
If he chooses to be a Razorback, he must play several positions in the Arkansas defensive scheme.

Smith, 6-3, 180 pounds, from Orlando (Florida) Bishop Moore Catholic, has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Penn State, South Carolina, West Virginia, Louisville and others.
He also has a best of 21.3 seconds in the 200 meters.
In an interview in late January, Smith said, ‘From now on, definitely Arkansas ”will be one of his visits when the dead period is over.
• Little Rock Parkview’s running back, James Jointer, who committed to the Razorbacks on Saturday, said he and his teammates Dax Courtney and JJ Hollingsworth are recruiting talents inside and outside the state to be Razorbacks.
Arkansas quarterback MJ Morris said Jointer is recruiting him.
Morris, 6-2, 195 pounds, from the Atlanta Pace Academy, has more than 30 scholarship offers, including those from Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, the State of Florida, Auburn, Miami, Michigan and others.
ESPN classifies Morris as a potential 4-star customer, the quarterback in 6th place for double threats and 57th in the country’s total recruits for the 2022 class.
Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles has formed a good relationship with Morris. He said the bond is still strong.
Morris said he “for sure” will visit Arkansas when his dead period is over.
