As you may have heard, it’s the Pokémon’s 25th anniversary on February 27th (this weekend). Before that, The Pokémon Company took a vote, asking Japanese trainers to vote for their favorite pocket monster via Twitter. To vote, participants should share the name of any pocket monster in Japanese on the social media platform.

In the end, there were over a million votes – with the most voted Pokémon receiving close to 69,000 entries. So, who were the main choices? First was Dedenne, second was Cinccino (54,444 votes) and third was Sableye with 45,562 votes. The franchise’s face (Pikachu) came in seventh place.
