PS Plus is Sony’s flagship service, and while that has always been clear, it looks like it has reached 2021 determined not to be overshadowed.
Since the days of PS2 and OG Xbox, the two “factions” of gamers have debated which is the best hardware, which has the best exclusives and more. The last two years have seen a new point come in: which has the best subscription service? For Sony, there are options like PS Now and PS Plus, while Microsoft has Games with Gold and Game Pass.
Ultimately, few would deny that the Game Pass is the best value subscription service on the market today. He grants access to a ton of games, has started securing larger titles from Bethesda and EA, and will see all Xbox exclusive content released on the first day. Perhaps Microsoft’s reliance on the Game Pass led to the recent Gold Price Hike disaster, which Microsoft quickly realized was a mistake and gave up. This is only good for the company, but neither here nor there. The Game Pass is stronger than ever and, despite severe structural differences, it is the biggest competitor of PS Plus itself.

PS Plus is required to play non-free games online, but it also offers free games every month. Since PS5 marketing began, PS Plus has doubled what makes it so incredible, increasing its value and siding with the hardware. While many expected it would take months for PS5 games to be awarded the PS Plus, this is not the case. As a result, PS Plus is gearing up for a big 2021.
Free PS Plus Games in January 2021
The value of PS Plus cannot be underestimated.
