The Pittsburgh man accused of stabbing a 12-year-old boy at McDonald’s used racial slurs, a small witness: Police

The unbalanced man accused of assaulting and stabbing a 12-year-old boy in the neck at a Pittsburgh McDonald’s allegedly bit another person, used racial slander and assaulted police officers during and after the attack, according to a criminal complaint.

Charles Edward Turner, 51, called McDonald’s police and staff “white N ——” and “white devils” as police and witnesses tried to control him after the attack on the child – who was inside the store with family receiving food for their diabetic relative at the time, states the document.

The officers arrived at approximately 2:20 pm on Saturday – a few minutes after the attack – to find Turner standing in the front hall of McDonald’s on Avenida da Liberdade. He reportedly fought with the police moments after arriving at the scene.

When the police called doctors to check for “a major laceration” on Turner’s arm, he called at least one of the respondents, “white devil” and “white N,” the complaint further alleges.

The victim’s adult relative, who was not identified in the report, told police that he and his family stopped at McDonald’s “to buy something to eat because their eldest son has diabetes and his blood sugar was low,” the complaint said. .

They were waiting for his order when the man saw Turner attack the preteen from behind, a family member told police. The man then dropped Turner from the boy while two witnesses helped to try to contain him.

It was then that, according to the complaint, witnesses realized that the boy had been cut on the neck. The police characterize the young victim’s attack as a cut and stab. He was rushed to a hospital in the area in critical condition and his wound stabilized later, police said.

The adult family member also suffered cuts and scrapes on his forehead during his fight with Turner, while Turner reportedly bit another witness, identified in the complaint as a victim, on his left biceps.

“The police observed this bite mark and it was actively bleeding,” says the complaint.

The police did not say whether it appeared that the attack was random or a target.

Witnesses who questioned Turner after the attack told police he said “he just wanted to finish his coffee and then leave the restaurant,” according to the document. They then spotted him “outside the restaurant walking around and shouting racial slanders before going back inside,” the complaint said.

Later, investigators retrieved a black and yellow stylus and a bloody piece of a razor blade near the stabbing area.

Turner continued to fight with the police even at the police station, where he kicked another police officer and called several officers “white demons”, “rapists”, “white n ——” and “white satan”, the complaint said.

He was finally charged with four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault and one charge of resisting arrest, attempted criminal homicide and possession of a crime instrument – possession of a weapon.

A spokesman for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office was unable to provide information immediately about Turner’s defense attorney.
