Not everything is black and white for this penguin.
A yellow penguin “never seen before” was captured by the camera by a Belgian wildlife photographer, making nature lovers scream with joy.
Yves Adams was taking pictures of a colony of 120,000 king penguins in South Georgia, an island in the South Atlantic, in December 2019, when he spotted the rare bird, he told Kennedy News.
“It was paradise that he landed for us,” said Adams. “If I were 50 meters away, we wouldn’t have been able to get the show of a lifetime.”
Adams’ captivating series of shots shows the canary-yellow creature hitting his stomach in the water and waddling alongside his conventional-looking colleagues.
The close-ups show the penguin – whose coloring is due to the leukism of the pigmentation condition – with completely yellow plumage, and even yellow peepers.
Adams shared the animal images on Instagram this week, making bird fans pass out.
“This is absolutely incredible,” croaked an observer.
“Thank you for sharing this with the world! I shared it with my animal-loving daughter and her friends, ”added another.
Normal penguins often use reflections of yellow feathers to attract partners – but it is not clear whether the ultra-rare bird’s appearance makes him a golden boy with girls.
