After a quick tease introducing new content coming to The Outer Worlds, developer Obsidian Entertainment unveiled the next story DLC, Murder on Eridanos, scheduled for release on March 17. mystery on the planet Eridanos, with his character having to solve a complex and strange ‘whodunit’ to find out who murdered the spokesman for a new brand of space vodka.

Scheduled for release on March 17, with the Switch version arriving sometime later, the Murder on Eridanos DLC brings new missions, equipment and a weird quest line that seems totally in keeping with the bizarre storyline of this space RPG. What makes Eridanos a stranger scenario than normal areas is that the key locations on the planet are spread out over a set of floating islands, each with its own points of interest, missions to be found and equipment to be added to your expanding inventory. Before the announcement, GameSpot spent some time with the new DLC and discovered the strange events in Eridanos.

The main story of the Murder on Eridanos expansion focuses on the death of celebrity Halycon Helen, who should be the spokesperson for Rizzo’s Spectrum Brown Vodka. After your suspicious death, you are in charge of finding your killer, which will inevitably reveal an extensive plot involving strange behavior-altering parasites, the local Eridanos Tossball team and the events at the luxurious Grand Colonial hotel. This new DLC will also feature new gadgets, including the Discrepancy Amplifier that allows you to discover hidden clues and secrets. Along with these devices, you can find new weapons like the Utter-Buddy, a scientific melee weapon that is essentially a sting for cattle. There are also new armor and cosmetics to find, including the Ranger Mascot’s Noggin ‘, which comes from the mascot of the Eridanos Tossball team.

As mentioned earlier, the final DLC will be a subject focused on at the end of the game. Along with the new missions and equipment, the expansion will also increase the level limit by 3, so if you have the previous DLC – Peril on Gorgon – the final level limit of the External Worlds will be level 36. For those who wish to jump for the Murder on Eridanos expansion as soon as it is released, your character will need to be at level 30 and have completed the Radio Free Monarch mission in the main story.
