Today, a year ago, the World Health Organization finally declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. The Chinese government’s misinformation and its influence on scientists at the United Nations health organization delayed crucial information that could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives.
At first, the Chinese told the White House and WHO that the virus could not spread among people. Months were wasted in terms of a global response. And a year after the WHO finally declared COVID-19 a pandemic, American officials still do not have a clear picture of how the virus originated.
The Biden administration started from where the Trump administration left off by pressuring China to share data related to the virus outbreak.

At first, China said it originated at the Wuhan Seafood Market, but the only problem is that the first case had no connection with the market.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was the main voice suggesting that the virus probably came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology – a level 4 biosafety research laboratory where Chinese scientists were experimenting with bat viruses using US taxpayer money.

“We know with almost certainty that it came from Wuhan and there is substantial evidence of what was going on inside that laboratory. … I released a newsletter in early January this year that makes it clear that there are certain facts that make it strongly indicative that this left that lab through what was probably an accidental leak, “said Pompeo earlier this year.
“And the third pillar is that the Chinese Communist Party will not let anyone enter that laboratory to see what happened. They have disappeared journalists, made doctors who knew what happened to go away. That cover-up itself is a crime.”
Two new intelligence reports were disqualified by the Trump administration on January 15: several laboratory researchers had symptoms similar to COVID’s in the fall of 2019 and new evidence that the Chinese military was using the Wuhan Laboratory for secret research. Concern over the manipulation of bat virus “gain in function” in mice also alarmed scientists who attended a conference in Beijing in late 2017, when a group of scientists from the NIH-funded Wuhan lab presented their findings.

“I mean, we are not talking about working with the French here. We are not talking about working with our allies,” said David Asher, a former State Department investigator on the origins of COVID-19. “We are working with an adversary and transferring critical technologies and using funds from the United States government. They can be used against us and they can very well. I find that disturbing.”
A new book by journalist Josh Rogin called “Chaos Under Heaven” contains explosive details about how American diplomats warned of risky bat work being done in Wuhan’s laboratory in telegrams dating back to 2018. These telegrams have been ignored.
“In May, the Chinese CDC actually disproved the seafood market theory, but no one really realized why it was so ingrained in our psyche that this is what happened,” said Rogin recently.
“Now, here we are, a year later, and we have the Trump and Biden governments agreeing, in fact, that several things we are aiming for, a connection of human error related to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the world’s leading research center of coronavirus. “
