‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Mick Norcross found dead at 57

Norcross, the former owner of the Sugar Hut nightclub in Brentwood, who participated heavily in the reality show “The Only Way Is Essex”, died on Thursday.

“It is very sad to hear the news of Mr. Sugarhut’s death @micky_norcross,” tweeted “A very talented, friendly and fun guy who left a big mark on Brentwood.”

Essex Police said officers were called to an address in Bulphan, Essex, just before 3:15 pm local time.

“Unfortunately, a man inside was declared dead,” police said in a statement. “His death is not being treated as a suspect and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

“The Only Way Is Essex”, or TOWIE, as it is widely known, has been on display since 2010.

Norcross’ son Kirk also appeared on the show between 2011 and 2013.

Gemma Collins, one of TOWIE’s best-known faces, posted a tribute on Instagram.

“Always a gentleman,” she wrote. “The memories of the first days of the sugar hut and the wonderful filming parties you organized will never be forgotten.”

Another TOWIE star, James Argent, sent his condolences on Twitter.

“A real gentleman and a very kind man! RIP Mick”, he I wrote. “Many incredible memories, so sad! My thoughts are with your family.”

Norcross was active on Twitter and made his last post on Thursday morning.

“In the end, remember that you did the best you could,” he I wrote. “And that is good enough.”

Since then, the post has attracted a number of tributes.

“A gentleman – God bless,” answered boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
Ray Parlor, former Arsenal football star posted: “So sad.”

Mario Falcone, who first appeared on the show in 2011, posted a broken-hearted emoji.

“I’m heartbroken,” he added. “I can not believe.”
Actor and TV personality Denise Welch tweeted: “Truly moving. You were a lovely man.”
Elliott Wright, who also participated in the program, posted a broken heart emoji.
