As uncomfortable as it may seem to some, working at a standing table is better for your health than lying on a couch all day. But how do you convince millions of people who work from home in a responsible way to stand up all day? You build a vertical table with a built-in retro arcade that even includes a rare version for four players of Pong.

Arcade1Up, known for its scale recreations of classic arcade cabinets, has slowly expanded its repertoire to include other iconic arcade designs, and the company’s most recent creation is the Pong 4 Player Pub Table. Decades ago, arcade machines like these could be found in restaurants and bars and featured a screen (and controls) securely mounted under the table surface, allowing players to eat and drink while still injecting coins to play their favorite video games.

The Pong 4 Player Pub Table is a recreation of these classic designs. Using it as a permanent table is the easiest way to justify it as an essential job purchase, but at the end of the day, you can switch to eat in retro games. The schedule includes games like Pong, Warlords, Circus Atari, Stormand Super Breakout, as well as games that can take advantage of the four sets of knobs and rotating paddles located around the table, such as the four-player Pong Court and Pong Doublesand Pong Sports.

Pricing and availability will still be announced as we move into 2021, but fortunately, the table will be available before we are all forced to leave our home offices.

For many years, arcade machines offered state-of-the-art gameplay and graphics that were simply impossible to recreate on home consoles in the 80s and 90s. This is no longer the case, but in 1983 a new arcade game was introduced that completely impressed gamers. players because it looked like you were playing a cartoon on Saturday morning: Dragon’s lair.

Decades before technologies like real-time cel-shading on 3D models exist, Dragon’s lair achieved its innovative graphics through the use of hundreds of hand-animated clips (created by animation legend Don Bluth) that were played on a laser disc powered by the player’s choices in the game. It was a beautiful and extremely challenging game, which has been ported to countless platforms over the years, but Arcade1Up also announced a recreation of the original Dragon’s lair arcade cabinet matching the same size and scale as the original.

The arcade machine features a 4: 3 high definition transfer of animations from the original game and It also includes its sequel, Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp, as Space Ace. ANall three feature the same animated style by hand. have no details yet on when the arcade machine will be available but as it is a full-size replica, you can expect the price to be a little higher than the other smaller-scale Arcade1Up cases.
