Sure, you should navigate the aisle and check the labels to find the best options, but here’s a useful tip on the number one frozen pizza that you should never buy, according to a nutritionist.

“This pizza is rich in calories, sodium, saturated fat and carbohydrates and the list of ingredients is very long, with mainly processed ingredients”, says Ilyse Schapiro MS, RD, CDN.

It has only 6 ingredients, all natural and that you can pronounce.” There are no processed ingredients and, in general, it is low in calories and carbohydrates, as well as sodium, compared to most pizza crusts. It is also a good option for those on low carbohydrate diets, such as keto or paleo, or even if you are just looking for a healthier option, with fewer calories and more dense vegetables.

“You can also buy a whole wheat crust and cover it with your own toppings! It is much healthier if you cover it with your own sauce, cheese and vegetables, ”says Schapiro. She is a fan of the Plant-Strong Foods pizza kit.
