The old Google Pay app will soon lose person to person transfers in the U.S.

Google has informed US users about the older Google Pay app on Android, iOS and the web that they need to migrate to the new app to continue. The original version will lose this feature on April 5, as well as the ability to access recent activities and transactions. Google launched the new revised application.

The change will only affect users in the U.S. for now, as Google has not yet released the latest app for other regions. People elsewhere can continue to use the original app as usual for now.

It looks like users of the old app will still have access to the digital wallet, including payment cards. How 9to5 Google notes, this version can still be useful in some situations. You can only use the new Google Pay app on one device at a time.

If you still have funds in your Google Pay account after April 5, you can only access them through the new application (which is still in early access). Otherwise, the Google support team can manually transfer the money to your bank account.

Google will also update the terms of service for U.S. users on April 5. This will increase the minimum age for a Google Pay account from 16 to 18.
