The nominations for COVID vaccines of more than 3140 70 COVID in Deschutes County were completed in just 2 hours

The county receives 3,140 first dose vaccines; Phase 1a, also qualified educators

BEND, Oregon. (KTVZ) – The Oregon Health Authority allocated 3,140 first-dose vaccines of COVID-19 to Deschutes County for this week, so the county on Tuesday scheduled vaccination appointments for people aged 70 and over.

It took only two hours to fill all available times.

“Consultations for adults aged 70 and over are full,” said the 11am update. “We hope to have information about next week’s doses on Friday.”

“When the availability of appointments reopens, we hope to start scheduling appointments for adults aged 65 and over,” scheduled to start across the state next Monday.

As of 9:00 am on Tuesday, adults aged 70 and over were able to schedule an appointment online or by phone to receive the first dose of the vaccine at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond.

To schedule a vaccine appointment for adults aged 70 and over:

  • The easiest and fastest way to sign up for an appointment is to schedule it online at www.stcharleshealthcare.org/covid-vaccine-scheduling-seniors.
  • If you are having trouble signing up online, watch this video, which describes the online scheduling registration process.
  • If you don’t have access to a computer or don’t have someone who can help you sign up for an online appointment, call 541-699-5109. The team is available from 9 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. Be prepared to wait on hold or return the call, as the volume of calls on this line is high.

Those who qualify as Phase 1a or Phase 1b, Group 1 must submit an online certificate form. The team will contact eligible individuals to schedule their vaccination appointment.

Federal Retail Pharmacy Program

Some retail pharmacies in central Oregon are offering the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible groups through the Federal COVID-19 Federal Retail Pharmacy Program. There will not be enough vaccines to vaccinate all eligible Oregonians at these locations, due to limited supply. Appointments may be available by visiting:
