With Pyra and Mythra now available as part of the Challenger Pack 9, there are now only two characters from Fighters Pass Vol. 2 that have yet to be revealed and released. As of now, it is not known whether there will be a Fighters Pass Vol. 3 or any additional content for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate after the release of these last two fighters. Based on what Masahiro Sakurai has said on the subject in the past, it doesn’t seem very likely at first.
However, fans recently discovered something interesting on the Australian Nintendo website that suggests the existence of some type of content that will come after Challenger Pack 11, the final DLC package for Fighters Pass Vol. 2. PapaGenos recently released a video that covers the details behind this rumor, which are based on the discovery made by RiuBert in a Reddit topic.
Replacing the last five digits in the numeric part of the URL – “700500000xxxxx” – with “08502”, users can find themselves on the Joker Challenger Pack page. Likewise, typing 08503, 08504, 08505 and 08506 in the URL instead will take the user to the pages of the Hero Challenger Pack, Banjo & Kazooie Challenger Pack, Terry Bogard Challenger Pack and Byleth Challenger Pack.
All the content of the first Fighters Pass is requested on the website as well. It is also worth mentioning that the Piranha Plant and Rex Mii Costume pages are set to 08501 and 08507 respectively.
Likewise, Fighters Pass Vol. 2 characters can be found using this method. Min Min is 18967, Steve is 18968, Sephiroth is 18969 and Pyra & Mythra are 18970. Challenger Pack 10 and Challenger Pack 11 are listed as 18971 and 18972, but details about the identities of these characters cannot be found on the website yet.
Just like the Rex Mii costume, the bonus content that comes with the acquisition of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, the Ancient Helm & Gear Mii costume set in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is listed after the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 challenging. What is notable here is that the numeric part of the URL is listed as “70050000018974” and not “70050000018973.” In fact, there is a gap between the Fighters Pass Vol. 2 characters and the Ancient Helm & Gear Mii bonus set.
Although some speculate that it may be a kind of “bonus character” for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (something similar to the Piranha Plant), this can also be another Mii costume, or nothing at all.
It is worth mentioning that the Mii outfits that are part of the 1-9 waves of Mii outfits for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are listed separately from the content of the first Fighters Pass and Fighters Pass Vol. 2
Nintendo has a history of leaking unannounced content for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate like this in the past. We were able to find out that Smash Ultimate would receive Castlevania content in the base game, and an SNK representative for Challenger Pack 4 because of that.
However, if we accept Masahiro Sakurai’s words at face value, then it would be better not to expect any additional DLC after the completion of Fighters Pass Vol. 2
