The next Stadia exclusive is PixelJunk Raiders, launching on March 1st

PixelJunk Raiders is the next exclusive launch of Google’s Stadia cloud gaming service. The title, a third-person rougelite that takes you to fight in procedurally generated alien environments, will be released on the Stadia platform on March 1st. It will sell for $ 19.99 (€ 19.99) and will be included for free with the Stadia Pro subscription. Ad trailer accounts PixelJunk Raiders as “Only at Stadia”, suggesting that it is not a timed exclusive like Crayta.

The ad notes that PixelJunk Raiders supports Stadia’s State Share feature, which has already been used with Hitman games to allow players to share specific parts of the missions with each other. At the PixelJunk Raiders, the feature allows its “towers, traps and positioned devices to affect the world of other players”.

The launch of PixelJunk Raiders it comes exactly a month after Google announced its decision to close its in-house game development studios, a division of several teams tasked with building original games for Stadia. Despite the closure, it appears that Google still plans to bring exclusive titles from third-party studios to Stadia.

Other exclusives previously announced for the service include Rock band Harmonix developer and Until dawn Supermassive Games studio, in a deal that was announced last year. Uppercut Games was also announced as developing an exclusive title for Stadia. It is unclear whether these deals were affected by Google’s recent studio closings.
