The next major update to Cyberpunk 2077 will try to fix bad cops and cars

When the late When patch 1.2 arrives, you can finally release your car when it is stuck. The CD Projekt Red offered some details on what to expect from a series of videos and a preview of the patch notes.

Until now, cops have tended to show up very quickly when you commit a crime – sometimes they teleport behind you or fall out of the sky. Patch 1.2 should remedy that. The Night City Police Department will also send reconnaissance drones “to create the feeling that the police are assessing the situation,” according to the CDPR.

Vehicles should look less clumsy thanks to speed and steering adjustments, as well as the addition of a steering sensitivity slider. Cars should also behave better when the frame rate drops. CDPR said it found “code that did not handle extreme frame rate changes properly”.

When your car gets stuck in something, you should be able to get free. “While holding down the accelerator, you can now rock the vehicle forward or backward, or rotate it left / right,” wrote the developers.

The patch will also introduce more keyboard shortcut options that really should have been in the game from the start. You will be able to turn off an option that makes the V dodge when you tap a movement key twice (quickly pressing the squat button twice will still cause that action). PC players will also have more choice of movement keys.

There may be more changes included in the patch. The update should also make the game work better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and we hope it works better. It might even convince Sony to bring the game back.

The first major Cyberpunk 2077 patch and the second should be released the following month. However, CDPR for the end of March following this, supposedly.
