The next major patch for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla finally adds transmog • Eurogamer.net

Plus: Easter event, new skills, closed camera option.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will roll out its next major update tomorrow, around noon, UK time.

Version 1.2.0 brings gear transmog to the game, new skills, a new camera option and support for the upcoming Valhalla “Ostara” Easter Festival.

The addition of gear transmog has been a frequent request from fans since the game’s release, and later became a popular addition to the series on Odyssey. There is a change here, however, of how it worked in that game. You will need to transmog your items in Ravensthorpe through your blacksmith, Gunnar, and pay a small fee of 50 silver for each item that changes its appearance.

The new Valhalla update also adds three new abilities: Fearless Leaper, which adds greater AOE damage and removes height limits for jumping attacks; Raven’s Loot, which gives you loot of dead targets with ranged attacks; and Loot Food, which gives you a better chance of finding food in corpses. This does not look hygienic.

A new “Close camera” option allows you to switch a closer field of view during normal play that zooms out during combat.

Ubisoft’s extensive patch notes also detail hundreds of minor improvements, balance changes and bug fixes. My favorite is “now there will be more cats across England”. Here’s another good one: “Resolved an issue that caused dead pigs to return to upright position after a quick trip.”

As for the Ostara Festival in Valhalla, Ubisoft provoked a “flowery Ravensthorpe” spring with some “unique side activities (like egg hunting) and special rewards”.

The event runs from March 18 to April 8 and will be fully detailed separately by Ubisoft in a few days.
