The next day – Engadget

Earlier this week, Nintendo released a live stream for upcoming games. Maybe some Zelda titles remastered for the Switch, finally? It is the 35th anniversary of the game series and Mario received treatment last year.

Well, yes, we have one. The company launched 20 new game announcements, leaving the best for last: a remake of Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and a Splatoon sequence.

We’ll go back to the previous one, but the presentation also revealed a new Mario Golf game, Fall Guys, which will change this summer, and Famicom Detective Club, a visual novel style game located for the USA. In addition, a collection of Ninja Gaiden and Knockout City, a game inspired by the fire coming not only for Switch, but also for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.

But back to the main revelation. The original Sword to Heaven was a mainline Zelda title that was unfortunately released on the Wii U. Nintendo’s predecessor, the Switch, struggled to sell throughout its life. The game also caused division, with many complaints about filling tasks, a peculiar movement-controlled battle interface and, apparently, a harp, which is now a trigger word for those who played the original.

But hey, you got your Zelda remake, OK? Even if it’s not what you (or I) wanted. See all the highlights here.

So let the big American public decide.

Amazon

Amazon announced its “Day 1” hardware program last year, with Amazon’s Echo Frames being the first hardware to move to general availability. Now, the company is expanding the program to “Built It”. It is taking into account the consumer’s interest when deciding whether to sell the products, which include a cute cuckoo clock, a minimalist smart nutritional scale and a very desirable adhesive note printer (just me?). Notably, none of them look like Amazon-style hardware, which is a good thing.

You can order them now, but Amazon will only order them if they reach a sales target by March 19. If they do, you will be charged and will receive the item sometime between July and September this year. The scale costs $ 35, the clock $ 80 and the printer $ 90. Keep reading.

Emojipedia

Within its iOS 14.5 beta, Apple’s 217 new emoji options focus on inclusion. 200 of them are combined emojis for mixed-race couples. Apple reformulated the syringe emoji to be less, well, bloody. When most of us are talking about the COVID-19 vaccines, it seems like a better fit. Apple has also replaced the generic black headset emoji with an icon that more closely represents its blank AirPod Max headphones. Unless you’re on the iOS beta, expect to see these new emojis in late spring. Keep reading.

It may be a minor counterpart to the Sonos movement.

Only U.S

The smart speaker company is holding a virtual “special event” on March 9 at 4 pm ET. The company’s invitation doesn’t say much, but the photo of someone wandering through nature suggests that it may feature another portable speaker suitable for outdoor environments. And the rumors too. Keep reading.

‘Far Cry 4,’ ‘Sniper Elite 4’ and ‘Watch Dogs 2’ are the first.

As promised, the Xbox Series X and S will be able to run some older games with higher frame rates starting today. The company is launching its FPS Boost feature for some backward-compatible Xbox One titles, including Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs 2. Do not expect all important old games to receive treatment, however. The FPS Boost technique does not work for all titles, as it would make the characters animate twice as fast or it would destroy the way the physics simulations work. Keep reading.
