Bang & Olufsen audio equipment almost always comes with some prohibitive price tags, so I’m not too shocked by the suggested price of $ 2,000 on its new portable speaker. It also looks elegant, timeless and surprisingly functional.

You can move the Beosound level from a wall mount (sold separately) to an outdoor side table. It even comes with its own MagSafe magnetic loading disc. Inside, a set of five speakers – including two four-inch woofers, a two-inch full range driver, two 0.8-inch tweeters and low-distortion amplifiers – controls all of your audio content.

Level B & O

It comes with a replaceable streaming module that will power most of the company’s home speakers. Bang & Olufsen says the module has “sufficient processing power and connectivity technology” to accommodate updates to improve performance and new features in the future. The company also claims that the “modular” design of the speaker allows customers to perform easy maintenance tasks, such as replacing the battery, and gives service partners better access to key components. I can’t guarantee how future-proof it really is, and yes, it’s still a $ 2,000 – $ 2,300 speaker if you want the gold option. Still, I kind of want to.

If you believe CNBC’s anonymous sources, a car deal between Hyundai / Kia and Apple may be just around the corner. Similar to previous rumors, well-informed people suggest that Apple wants to partner with an automaker for its electric vehicle platform, with Apple’s Project Titan team designing most of the hardware and software.

It looks like they could have the first electric vehicles ready to launch in 2024, and the project will focus on a completely autonomous driverless experience.

A virtual receptionist is just the beginning.

Zoom’s latest update helps minimize contact with others in meeting rooms and beyond. It all starts at reception – a kiosk mode allows a virtual receptionist to greet you on a Zoom Rooms for Touch device.

You can also view the occupancy of a meeting room on the Zoom Dashboard with compatible cameras and check the air quality of a room (after a February 11 update) with a Neat Sense monitor to ensure that it is well ventilated. You won’t have to touch shared surfaces as often. You can use the Zoom Rooms Controller app to conduct a meeting on your phone instead of using a shared controller. Rooms for Touch users can also control the desktop of the person who is currently sharing their screen. A future update will also bring broader support for hands-free voice commands, including Alexa controls.

The PlayStation had its best quarter in history.

PS5

Sony never seemed to have enough PlayStation 5 stock since it launched, but it still managed to sell 4.5 million consoles in 2020 – matching PS4 sales during the console’s launch quarter in 2013. Profits also increased 50 percent to 80.2 billion yen ($ 763 million), due to increased sales of games worth 484 billion yen ($ 4.6 billion), which actually doubled the 240 billion yen ($ 2.3 billion) ) in hardware sales.

That’s a good thing, because Sony loses money on every new PS5 sold because it set “strategic prices for PS5 hardware that were … lower than manufacturing costs”. The business plan for a game console remains the same – make money from selling games and services after building a suitable installed base.
