The next characters in Super Smash Bros’ Ultimate are from Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Nintendo announced that Pyra and Mythra’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will join Super Smash Bros. Ultimateas part of the news of your Nintendo Direct presentation. Pyra and Mythra are due to launch in March, with the company promising more details close to launch.

The pair marks the latest additions to the Xenoblade franchise to join Super Smash Bros. after the addition of Shulk – the protagonist of the original Xenoblade Chronicles – as part of Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The choice of Pyra and Mythra is somewhat unconventional, with Nintendo choosing the two companion characters Xenoblade Chronicles 2 about the main character in the game, Rex.

Pyra and Mythra (both count as a single character that players can freely exchange) constitute the fourth DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimateaccording to Fighters Pass. Previous additions included Min Min’s Arms, Minecraft mascots Steve and Alex, and Final Fantasy VII villain Sephiroth, which was announced in December at The Game Awards. The Fighters Pass costs $ 29.99 for six characters (the four previously mentioned characters that have been announced so far, along with two more fighters to be announced in the coming months), but you can pay $ 5.99 for each character individually.

This is all beyond Smash Bros. UltimateThe first Fighters Pass, which costs $ 24.99 and includes Joker from Persona 5, one Dragon’s mission hero, Banjo and Kazooie’s Banjo-Kazooie, The king of fighters‘Terry Bogard and Byleth’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
