The Post promoted its editorial board article, which begged the president to “end this dark charade” of “cheering for an anti-democratic coup” to change the results of the 2020 elections, on the front page of his Monday newspaper.
The newspaper’s editorial board called the second round of the Georgia Senate election “an extremely important moment for the next four years in our country,” as disputes will determine which party controls the US Senate.

The Post noted that the president “had every right to investigate the election,” but added, “Let’s be clear: these efforts have found nothing.”
“We understand, Mr. President, that you are angry that you lost. But continuing on this road is ruinous ”, wrote the editorial board. “We offer this as a newspaper that endorsed you, that supported you: if you want to consolidate your influence, even set the stage for a future return, you must channel your fury into something more productive.”
“Stop thinking about January 6. Start thinking about January 5, ”he added.
The editorial board encouraged Trump to spend his resources on the race for the Senate to preserve his achievements and prevent Democrats from having the presidency, the House and the Senate.
“Protecting the Senate means protecting your legacy,” wrote the editorial board. “You must use your considerable charm and influence to support Georgia’s candidates by mobilizing your voters for them. Focus on their success, not your own complaints, as we move into the final week. “
