The New York Democrat classifies Cuomo’s comments as ‘dear’ and ‘child rapist’ as ‘absolutely shocking’

A New York Democratic state deputy attacked Governor Andrew Cuomo in “The Story” on Monday after more controversial behavior surfaced.

While Cuomo was getting into a car after an event in Mount Vernon, NY, a crowd shouted a comment at him. The governor, who is being investigated on charges of sexual assault and inappropriate advances against women, was registered responding: “I’m not going anywhere, dear.”

Mrs Aileen Gunther described the comment as “shocking”.

“’I’m not going anywhere, dear? “Gunther commented.” I thought this was unbelievable. Instead of shutting up, instead, [accuser] number eight comes ahead and you are still acting very arrogant.

Gunther, who was first elected to the New York State Assembly in 2003, told hostess Martha MacCallum that she remembered the last time a New York governor was involved in a scandal, pointing to Democrat Eliot Spitzer.

“You know, I remember when Spitzer was [call girl] client number 9. The governor [Cuomo, then New York’s attorney general] said he should resign the next day, “

“We have [Cuomo accuser] number eight coming ahead. For the sake of the budget, for the sake of the state of New York over a very, very volatile period – you know, we have people dying from COVID, we have people who need immunizations – it’s time to have leadership that will bring about some kind of peace . “

MacCallum later asked Gunther about the comments reported by The New York Times, in which he expressed indignation at the then Working Families Party chairman, Bill Lipton, in 2018.

Lipton’s party was considering endorsing Cuomo’s Democratic primary candidate, actress Cynthia Nixon, and referred to Cuomo as “better than a Republican” compared to the more liberal Nixon.

“If you say ‘he is better than a republican’ again. I will say ‘you are better than a child rapist’ – how about that?” Cuomo told Lipton.

Lipton replied that he wanted Cuomo to understand the main point of the comment, which was that “we have differences with you”, while “our differences with the Republicans are much greater”.

When Lipton finished making his clarification, Cuomo countered, “I think you are better than a child rapist.”

“It’s just unbelievable,” said Gunther, “and for someone who is a leader of one of the big states in New York, it’s absolutely shocking. It’s time. You know, during my tenure, we had three other men who were accused To resign the next day.

“Again, he tells Spitzer to resign the next day. Being arrogant and abusive is not going to work this time.”
