As noted in a video by Joe Chip (embedded below), as the Edge browser does not currently support a mouse on the Xbox, some games that require a mouse and keyboard, such as Quake 2 RTX, do not work well with the browser.

GeForce Now is available for free, as well as through a subscription for faster access and RTX support.

The service is different from other services, such as Google [191 articles]”href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/companies/google/ “> Google’s Stadia, allowing players to stream their existing Steam and Epic Game Store libraries across multiple devices, such as smartphones or laptops.

It was confirmed on Sunday that the new Edge Chromium browser can run Google Stadia, allowing console users to stream from their game library.

As noted in a video by Thurrott’s Brad Sams, the new Xbox browser can allow console players to stream games to their console via Microsoft’s own Project xCloud [102 articles]”href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/platforms/xbox/project-xcloud/ “> xCloud in the future, once Microsoft has publicly added support for the web browser.

The new Xbox Edge browser is also expected to improve compatibility with services like Skype or Discord over the web, as well as browser-based games.

Microsoft announced plans to launch cloud games with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for PC and iOS devices in the spring of 2021.

Currently, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in 22 countries can play more than 100 games on Android devices via the cloud using a compatible controller. About 20 of these games also support touch controls.

And Xbox boss Phil Spencer [259 articles]”href =” https://www.videogameschronicle.com/people/phil-spencer/ “> Phil Spencer said the company is working to bring the Xbox Game Pass broadcast to the consoles as well.

“Yes, we want to do that,” he said last year. “It’s on the long list of cool things the xCloud team is working on, just down the list. But we want console and PC players to be able to navigate as easily as mobile players, it’s a good pass-through feature. “
