The new Netflix trailer for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is all about folklore

Dota 2The tradition of is not exactly frontal and central. You can play thousands of games and still have no idea what the story is, which makes it even more complicated if you’ve never played the game. So, to help get everyone informed before your animated series DOTA: dragon’s blood leaves, Netflix released a new video which gives a basic introduction to the DOTA tradition.

The video features three prominent members of the Dota 2 community: Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner, Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden and Owen “ODPixel” Davies. Each discusses a certain part of the game’s extensive tradition. They don’t cover all the details, but they provide an overview good enough to help prepare people for Dragon blood.

The trio delves into the creation of the DOTA universe and some of the old events that explain how the heroes of the game became so powerful. They also talk about why the game’s two factions, Radiant and Dire, are in eternal conflict, and how mythical gods and elements like chaos take physical forms in this world and wander involved in various conflicts.

The history of DOTA: dragon’s blood will focus on Davion, the Dragon Knight, one of the prominent heroes of DOTA, and will tell the story of his life before entering the conflict between the Radiant and the Dire. The series will premiere on Netflix on March 25.
