Although we don’t know details about the new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer until its official launch on March 11, 2021, Autoweek reported that we can expect one thing: Amazon Fire TV screens integrated with the Uconnect infotainment system.

Fire TV is Amazon’s answer to streaming services, but it also allows you to play video games, listen to music and use other apps. And Jeep will be the first manufacturer to implement this software in an automotive environment. Autoweek informs you that it will have the same interface as the Fire TV in your home and you will be able to use your account without any problems. Basically, you can start watching a show at home, then get in the car and continue watching where you left off.

Jeep wants you to know that this will not be available to distract drivers, as the technology is not available while the vehicle is in motion. In this case, only passengers can use Fire TV. But the driver will be able to access it while in the parking lot. It’s always a bonus if you end up spending a lot of time in parking lots waiting for an appointment today.

You can also download the content. So, if you are going on a trip through the middle of nowhere, you will still be able to finish your show without having to broadcast it from the internet. Considering the prevalence of “screens” as a response to my previous question about keeping kids happy on the road, this will be a blessing for families who see themselves on the road regularly.

All of this is nice and elegant, but it raises a big question: what are these screens for to look like? It is a thing to provide a little bit of technology to keep parents around the world healthy. Another is to do this on a screen that protrudes from the rest of the interior like an injured thumb. But we won’t know more until the 11th.
