The new Apex Legends update makes a big change to Heat Shields in season 8

A new update for Apex Legends on March 23 introduced some changes to the heat shield as Respawn continues to tinker with the newest Battle Royale item.

The first thing is first, Respawn put the Heat Shields back in the regular loot pile on regular and sorted playlists, so that players can actually find the survival item in the game.

But they have been slightly nerfed since the last time Apex Legends players used them, with developers making changes to how players can heal within their radius.

Respawn has been pushing some of these micro patches more often to address some of Apex’s most pressing problems, so keep up with what the latest update includes.

Heat Shields no longer grant quick healing while they are within its perimeter.

There was no significant downtime for the latest Apex Legends patch, but it will unlock the Heat Shields, as they were disabled in classified and private matches on March 12.

However, along with several corrections since they were deactivated, the Heat Shields have been nerfed and will no longer have a quick cure while in the item’s dome.

While the passive was given to the item to help players heal, avoiding the dreaded damage tics that came from being out of the zone, there were other uses that Respawn may be responding to.

Apex Legends players found that Heat Shields’ liabilities were extremely useful in end-of-game situations, but the developers ended it since they brought them back.

“Share clips of why linking this to the rating is a bad idea. Share clips that explain why it’s a good idea to turn this on in the rating. Curious to see how Heat Shield affects gameplay, ”said Live Balance associate designer John ‘JayBiebs’ Larson after the patch went live. “I have a few theories. Remember that we have many buttons that we can use for balancing. “

As one of the last mechanics to be introduced in Apex, Respawn will monitor the situation more to understand where to make the best corrections.
