The Motley Fool Announces $ 5 Million Investment in Bitcoin

Iin our Discovery: 10X campaign, we created a new solution focused on finding investment opportunities with the potential to increase 10x in value over the next five, 10, 15 years.

This campaign highlighted that we were recommending one cryptocurrency as part of this real money 10X portfolio. Now we are saying what the cryptocurrency is.

In our 10X real money portfolio, we are recommending and buying Bitcoin. It will be a central participation in our 10X portfolio. There are 39 other stocks that we believe are on a path that could lead to 10x returns at some point in the next 15 years. We believe that Bitcoin can also provide these returns.

In addition to this portfolio allocation in 10X, in the coming weeks, The Motley Fool will also separately purchase $ 5 million in Bitcoin on our own balance sheet. Let’s not just wait for all of our members to 10X be able to buy before you buy our 10X allocation, but we are also giving all Motley Fool members a chance to revise this guidance before we separately invest $ 5 million of Motley Fool’s equity.

While Bitcoin may well remain volatile in the short term, we believe it has a potential 10 times greater than current levels in the long term, as part of a diversified portfolio. We intend to maintain this investment in Bitcoin for many years old.

We generally recommend that investors aim to own at least 30 shares and hold them for at least five years. Starting with that 10X Bitcoin will be one of the holdings in a diversified portfolio backed by Motley Fool’s own money.

The three main reasons why we are making this separate investment in Bitcoin are:

  1. We believe that it will store value more effectively than gold in the long run.
  2. We believe it can become a medium for transactions, if / if prices stabilize in the next decade.
  3. We believe it can act as a productive hedge against inflation.

That’s what The Motley Fool is doing. The Motley Fool writers and analysts may have differing views on Bitcoin. We encourage a lively debate on Fool.com, among our investment team and with our members. Ultimately, it is up to each individual to determine what role Bitcoin can or should play in a diverse investment portfolio.

Finally, we are not buying overpriced ETFs as our route to Bitcoin. We are buying Bitcoin directly.
