As noted earlier, this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw began with a chart that acknowledged the passing of Jon “Brodie Lee” Huber. Nothing more was said about him on the show, but Tom Phillips and Drew McIntyre were able to insert a reference “you know what that means” and Xavier Woods made a discus line in honor of his friend.
There was no greeting for 10 bells and no video package shown to Lee on the show. At the time of writing, the only thing posted for Lee on the WWE YouTube channel is a playlist of some of his fights, but there was no tribute dedicated to him as they do to other fighters who have passed away.
The lackluster tribute was not well received by the fighters and fans. Former WWE star Brian Myers made it clear on Twitter that he was not happy with WWE’s little effort.
Fans will have a bigger tribute to Brodie Lee this Wednesday night at AEW Dynamite. Tony Khan announced today that he canceled his original plans for the show and this week’s Dynamite will be dedicated to Lee and they will honor his wife and children. No 10-bell greeting?
No video package?
This man was loved by his colleagues and we are all suffering a lot.
This is not right. https://t.co/PhZIckKcbm– Brian Myers (@Myers_Wrestling) December 29, 2020
