Nearly a quarter of NHS staff in some parts of the country are refusing Covid vaccines, with official statistics showing that more than 200,000 health and care professionals put patients at risk. NHS figures show that 91 percent of frontline healthcare professionals across the country have accepted the offer of a vaccine, but that drops to 76 percent in London – the worst rate of refusal. In total, more than 41,000 frontline health professionals in the capital, including doctors, hospital porters, janitors and laboratory staff, have not received the jab. The national picture among nursing home staff is even worse, with less than 73% acceptance. Statistics show that about 106,000 frontline health workers and more than 121,000 health workers still need to get the vaccine.
