There are still approximately 35,000 ballots pending in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, but the results may begin to arrive today, reports Brian Todd of CNN of an election returns deposit in Pittsburgh.

“Some of them were stamped before election day, some were stamped on election day. They are coming and did not start counting until after election day, ”reports Todd.

Inside the polling station depository in Pittsburgh, Todd described the process of counting votes.

“These are the people who do the most critical work. They are called the return frame ”, he explained.

“They are counting the ballots now. At the moment, the ballots they said they are counting are from foreign military personnel … who registered to vote in this county. Previously, they went through damaged ballots,” Todd said.

He added that members of the board of return counted about 3,000 damaged ballots out of 35,000 pending ballots. “We were told that they have about 3,500 military and foreign ballots that are passing,” said Todd.

There are another 29,000 additional ballots that also need to be counted, which are being segregated because they had “wrong information placed on them when they were sent. This has been corrected,” said Todd.

“They were resent and then people sent them back, but because of this problem, by court order, they must be counted from 5 pm today,” explained Todd.

Todd explained that there is an observer following the voting process from behind.

“Very transparent process,” said Todd, noting that there are cameras set up in the room and monitors that show the voting process.
