The Marvel Spider-Verse core team officially has a new name

Spider-Man may think his battle with the Kindred is over, but his allies know it and they officially gave themselves a new team name.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Nick Spencer’s Amazing Spider-Man # 57, Mark Bagley, John Dell, Andrew Hennesy, Andy Owens, Rachelle Rosenberg, Edgar Delgado and Joe Caramagna from VC, now on sale.

Previously on the “Last Remains” plot in Amazing spider man, the heroes that are part of the spider totem came up with a name at the time, called Order of the Web. Now that the battle with the Kindred is temporarily over, they know they have bigger battles to fight.

As a result, the heroes chose to remain connected to each other and formed an official team where they will try to keep an eye on Spider-Man and deal with the problems that this war with the Kindred has raised. However, with the official selection, they also abbreviated the name. Spider-Gwen said that the original name Madame Web gave them was a little long, so she said they would now be known as The Order.

The new team includes Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Madame Web, Silk, Gwen-Spider and Miles Morales’s Spider-Girl. They were not happy with Peter Parker when he left after the battle with the Kindred and refused to explain what happened. They almost died trying to help him, and everyone went through a lot. She also pointed out that Peter made a choice that he claimed was for them, but she believes he is hiding something. Mary Jane came over to interrupt the debate and Madame Web agreed, but told Peter that it was time to talk.

After Peter and Mary Jane left, the Order began to discuss what their next move would be. While Spider-Man was busy dealing with Norman Osborn and wiping his hands from him in the whole situation, the Order said he still needs their help, even though he doesn’t want to let them help. Spider-Woman said it doesn’t matter because she knows that something big is coming, and they won’t give Spider-Man a choice when the time comes. She admitted that the Kindred are not finished, all the sins that the Sin Eater has released are running wild, and something big is coming. Spider-Gwen said that they needed someone to tell them what to do, and it was then that Madame Web said they would be together. This excited Spider-Man, who wanted to make a statute and rent an office space, although he knows what it means to be a member of the team. He was in the Avengers and is a current member of the Champions. They decided that it could wait. For now, they are known as the Order, and it was time to start working.

While the Order of the Web was a bit long and complicated for Gwen-Spider, the new name also doesn’t have the best connotations. During the “Civil War”, Tony Stark initiated the Initiative to place teams of superheroes in the United States, all working for the United States government. The California team was initially, and ironically, called Champions, but later renamed Ordem. It was an interesting group, as each member had the power of a Greek God, but as a government commanded a team, if one member broke the rules, they would be deprived of their powers and someone else would replace them. The team ended up being eliminated after the Initiative, and soon the real champions were back in action.

Another team known as the Order consisted of the founding members of the Defenders – Doctor Strange, Namor, Hulk and Silver Surfer. This happened in The order (2002) by Kurt Busiek, Matt Haley, Dan Panosian, Gregory Wright and Randy Gentile. This put some of the most powerful heroes on Earth in a position where they forced their will on the people of Earth with a kind of new world order, under a curse placed upon them by Yandroth. However, this ended when the rest of the Defenders stopped them and broke the curse, ending the threat once and for all.
