‘The Mandalorian’ director Robert Rodriguez and Baby Yoda get together for a holiday jam session – Deadline

For fans of The Mandalorian, Christmas came early as a director and Boba Fett’s Book executive producer Robert Rodriguez joined Child (aka Grogu) for a jam session.

Rodriguez, who also directed Alita: Battle Angel and Netflix We can be heroes, tweeted a video on Christmas Eve that served as an early Christmas gift for fans asking what it’s like to be on set with the beloved creature in the center of Jon Favreau Star Wars by-product. Playing the chords of his guitar, Rodriguez joined the child for a short performance.

In the video, Rodriguez strums a snippet of an elegant number while the Child shakes his head, smiles and mumbles to the beat.

Rodriguez directed Chapter 14, entitled The tragedy, from the Disney + series that stars Pedro Pascal in the title role. The Mandalorian ended its second season a week before Christmas with an eventful ending that had Star wars fans celebrating the return of familiar faces.

The final episode of The Mandalorian the second season saw The Child join Luke Skywalker (a CGI version of Mark Hamill) and R2-D2 to train in the ways of the Jedi.
