The manager of Chick-fil-A called to help recover the drive-thru at the site of the COVID-19 vaccine

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC / Gray News) – What do you do when your COVID-19 vaccine drive-thru line is backed up? You look for professionals.

This is what Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie did by invoking the experience of Chick-fil-A manager Jerry Walkowiak.

In a tweet posted on January 22, Haynie posted a video of Walkowiak in action at one of the city’s drive-thru vaccination centers showing the manager in action, saying, “When you need help, call the professionals.”

The video shows Walkowiak driving cars and asking drivers if they had their paperwork.

The story has received national attention since Haynie tweeted the video.

“The real message? Distribute the vaccine to people quickly and efficiently. There is light at the end of the Covid tunnel, ”said Haynie.
