Lincoln Lawyer pulled its sedan to Netflix after being turned down by CBS.
Netflix and novelist Michael Connelly announced on Monday that the adaptation for the TV series Lincoln attorney romances landed on the streaming giant, with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (of Goliath and By Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) filling in the title paper.
CBS previously developed a Lincoln attorney adaptation for the spring 2020 pilot season, reportedly starring Logan Marshall-Green (Conviction), but ended up rejecting the project. The 2011 film adaptation starred Matthew McConaughey.
In a statement, Connelly wrote: “Today, I’m excited to announce that, after a little travel, Mickey Haller will come to life again on the screen – this time in the adaptation for the TV series of The Lincoln Lawyer coming to Netflix and starring the wonderful and talented Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
“O Lincoln attorney the series will be adapted to serve the complex and mysterious arches that fans know and love with a mixture of cheerful humor and a dose of family dynamics, ”continued the author. “Season 1 will consist of 10 one-hour episodes and will be based on the second book in the series, The Brass Veredict. It is brought to life by a renowned team of producers including David E. O Lincoln attorney novels follow Mickey Haller, the half-brother of LAPD detective Harry Bosch (played on Amazon by Titus Welliver) and an iconoclastic idealist who runs his back seat law firm in his Lincoln Town Car, while he handles big cases and across the sprawling city of Los Angeles. “Manuel is the ideal Mickey Haller, since Haller follows in the footsteps of his father, a lawyer, with the performance of his Mexican movie star mother,” says Connelly. “Manuel brings a powerful dynamic and dimension to the role – one that aligns with the books and will give the program the opportunity to celebrate Latinx’s heritage and roots in this Los Angeles-based story.”
