We have long known that Nvidia has an event focused on GeForce RTX coming on January 12, and although we have always suspected that it involves the RTX 3060 GPU and RTX 30 mobile chipsets, the company has practically confirmed some of the content in a flash teaser video and you will lose on Twitter.
For a nine-second video, there is an astonishing amount that you can deduct from it, so here’s a full review. First, however, the video itself:

All interesting parts occur at the four-second mark, where four images are quickly displayed in quick succession. First, something that looks like a gaming laptop, which is the strongest indicator that Nvidia is planning to give its mobile GPUs an injection into the Ampere-based arm, in the same way that desktop GPUs have been updated in last year.
This is not entirely surprising. It’s not just a little strange that high-end gaming laptops reach the maximum on the RTX 2080 Super, when desktops can have RTX 3070 or 3080 cards installed, but we’ve already seen (quickly pulled) lists of RTX 30-based laptops, suggesting that an official launch is imminent. If the last leak was accurate, we can expect an Nvidia RTX 3060 with 6GB of GDDR6 memory, an RTX 3070 Max-Q with 8GB of GDDR6 and an RTX 3080 Max-Q with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM.
The second flashing image is not about hardware, but is related to a likely software connection. It’s a photo of People Can Fly’s next cooperative shooting game Outriders. Expect the game to have some extravagant effects that make it an especially strong showcase for Nvidia hardware.
Next, we have a quick flash of the GeForce RTX logo, which may not mean anything since the whole event is focused on the GeForce RTX, but our guess is that it refers to the launch of the RTX 3060 GPU. on the RTX 30 base card and is set to reduce the $ 400 3060 Ti for conventional gaming PCs. There are rumors that we will see the 6 GB and 12 GB versions, but we will have to wait until Tuesday to be sure.
The final photo is a scalable photo of what appears to be BAR (Base Address Register) technology. As our sister site Tom’s Hardware explains, this smart technology increases the transfer rate between the CPU and the GPU to improve game performance. Ampere GPUs are already supported, but need to be activated through a software update. His inclusion in the video suggests that Nvidia is almost ready to get that key right.
The remaining seven seconds of the video are just logos and a reminder that everything will be revealed soon, with details on how to tune in to the event. As a reminder, it starts on January 12 at 9 am PST, and you can watch it on Nvidia’s official Twitch and YouTube channels if you want to be the first to know.
