Since moving to Chromium, Microsoft Edge has become one of the most trusted cross-platform browsers available to users. It even surpasses Google Chrome as it doesn’t consume as much memory – a real benefit for systems with limited RAM. To provide an even better experience, Microsoft is revealing a major update that adds several new features to the browser.

New Themes

If you plan to apply a new coat of paint to your browser, try the 24 new themes that Microsoft has released. They range from simple colors to specific game colors, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 4and Sea of Thieves, among others.

Sleeping tablets

Microsoft is making Edge even more resource efficient with Sleeping Tabs. The feature increases browser performance by freezing inactive tabs and reallocating system resources to feed active guides and programs. This is not enabled by default, so you will need to take a trip to the settings menu.

Password Manager

An important feature that is being released with the new update is the Password Generator, which automatically suggests a secure password when you sign up for an account or change an existing one. Microsoft also plans to release more features of Password Manager, including a monitor that will alert you if your password is exposed or leaked on the dark web.

Sync history and tab

Shortly after bringing cross-device history and syncing tabs to users in the UK, Microsoft made the feature available to all users. Now you will be able to pick up where you left off on all your devices (even Android and iOS) and you won’t have to go to a specific phone or computer to find the website you visited on it.
