The latest Galaxy S21 firmware update may have resolved battery life

The launch of the Galaxy S21 series was not without its flaws for some customers in the Exynos regions, and you should remember that last week we called your attention to an issue with the February 2021 security patch and the possibility that it had a negative effect on the flagship battery life for some owners. Fortunately, Samsung was aware of the problem and the company may have already resolved it with the latest firmware update.

Samsung is releasing a second firmware update in February for the Galaxy S21 series, and many users who have had battery life problems before are now reporting via the XDA developer forums that the problem has been solved. Keep in mind that some users still report the same issues as before, so perhaps Samsung’s new update did not resolve the issue in its entirety or for everyone affected.

The new update can be identified by the firmware version G99xBXXU1AUB6. It is being released in dozens of countries – too many to list here – and readers can consult our firmware file for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra to see if the update can be downloaded to their phones on their regions. As always, you can also check the firmware by opening settings on your phone by accessing the Software update section and touch Download and install.

As our phones did not exhibit the battery life problems mentioned above, we did not notice any major change in autonomy after this new firmware update. However, we will keep you informed if something happens, and you are welcome to do the same in the comments section below.
