Samsung’s next foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to offer support for S Pen. This could lead to some design changes, according to Ross Young, a member of the exhibition industry.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a main screen of 7.6 inches and an external screen of 6.23 inches. Young says the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be equipped with slightly smaller screens to make room for the pen.
Although the next Galaxy S21 Ultra is also compatible with the S Pen, it will not have a dedicated slot for the pen. The Galaxy Z Fold 3, on the other hand, is tilted to they have a compartment to store the S Pen, as well as Note series phones.
Samsung had previously said it plans to make its phones foldable thinner and lighter, but the integration with the S Pen apparently got in the way, which means that the Z Fold 3 will not be thinner than its predecessor.
An earlier rumor suggested that the Fold 3 would be the first Samsung phone to feature a camera under display. Young says Samsung is trying to make this happen, but also warns that there is no guarantee that it will happen.

Galaxy Z Flip 3 can offer better specs at a lower price

Most reports say that Samsung will launch three foldable smartphones in 2021. It is true that the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are in development, but there are differences when it comes to the third device. Some leakers claim that the third device is the Z Fold Lite. Young, on the other hand, says it is the Z Flip Lite.

According to him, the Z Flip 3 and its simplified variant will have a slightly larger screen than the Z Flip 5G. O Flip 3 will also display a 120 Hz screen and LTPO technology.

The main hardware specifications for both devices remain a mystery, but it is safe to assume that they will have Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip under the hood. The Z Flip 3 is expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2021, and the Fold 3 may break coverage in June.

As for the price, the Fold 2 is likely to maintain the robust price of its predecessor, and the Flip 3 is supposed to be more affordable than the Flip 5G.
