Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, recently revealed what it was like to take his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to The Hill.
What happened to fauci
Fauci He said Thursday that the second round of the COVID-19 vaccine knocked him out for an entire day, something he wished he hadn’t, according to The Hill.
- “I had it on the 19th. I hoped I wouldn’t get too knocked out. I did it for about 24 hours. Now I’m fine, ” Fauci told reporters on Thursday.
- “Tired out. A little sore. Do you know. Cold. He’s not sick, ”added Fauci.
Why the second dose is important
Associate Professor in the Infectious Diseases Health Division at the University of Utah, Dr. Emily Spivak, told Deseret News that it is important to receive both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so that you can be fully protected against the virus.
- “The goal of the second dose is to increase the type of antibody count and the amount of immunity you have and, hopefully, the length. We simply don’t know how long protection lasts after two doses, ”said Spivak.
