The images show a prototype disguised as the Apple Watch running pre-watchOS software

New images have emerged showing what appears to be an Apple Watch prototype. The device has somehow managed to avoid being destroyed and has fully functional internal software and development settings.

Photos of the Apple Watch prototype were discovered by Apple Demo Twitter Account. The initial hardware is surrounded by a safety box that disguises the device from the obvious appearance of a watch. The hardware is pre-Digital Crown with only two buttons on the left side and what appears to be a kind of home button embedded in the case.

The software is pre-watchOS 1.0 and the Apple Demo proves that the internal build is working with a variety of photos showing the user interface and more. Referring to the 1980s Apple Lisa computer, there is even Lisa Simpson used as an application icon in the Apple Watch prototype for the “Lisa Tester”.

This is also where the “Springboard zoom” application resides, which includes an interactive experience of what the watchOS home screen would look like.

Behind the scenes with the original iPhone in production

In related news, new photos of the original iPhone being manufactured in the spring of 2007 have emerged. The first iPhone was announced in January 2007 before launching to customers in June.

These images show an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the first round of iPhone manufacturing, including a view of the UI used in the validation process.
