The huge new line of equipment for Ikea players includes this strange wooden table hand

In an ideal world, we would always keep a free hand to protect our precious gaming equipment. But for those times when you’re busy, Ikea launched a wooden hand of ¥ 129.00 (about $ 20) to act as a caretaker – one of dozens of new game products launched in China. As Ikea explains, the Lånespelare accessory holder (or the Game Hand, as we’re going to call it) “takes care of the cables, headphones and other devices that you want to be organized, but still within reach”. It looks like, uh, accessible?

The Ikea Game Hand is part of the recently announced line of gaming furniture and accessories, which it says was developed in collaboration with Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand. There are more than 30 products in the line, which include everything from gaming chairs and desks to mouse pads and ring light.

The line is organized into six product families: Huvudspelare, Utespelare, Matchspel, Gruppspel, Uppspel and Lånespelare. The Huvudspelare family includes a game chair for ¥ 299.00 (about $ 46) and a game table for ¥ 219.00 (about $ 34). Utespelare and Matchspel also include gaming chairs, but are more expensive at ¥ 699.00 (about $ 108) and ¥ 999.00 (about $ 155), respectively. In the meantime, Uppspel is the family of products you want if you’re looking for a ¥ 198.00 (about $ 31) gaming panel to organize all your gaming equipment, or a ¥ game drawer unit 599.00 (about $ 93).

Finally, there’s Lånespelare, which includes a variety of accessories like a ¥ 249.00 (about $ 39) and ¥ 99.00 (about $ 15) elastic mouse ring and even a carrier mugs that can be stuck on the side of your table. And who could forget this charming “multifunctional pillow / blanket” that, according to Ikea, offers everything from “lumbar support” to “a blanket over your shoulders”.

The good thing about the new line is not only the traditional affordable price from Ikea, it is that everything is free of the strong brand and RGB lighting that usually accompanies accessories and furniture for “players”. Ikea’s global workspace business leader, Ewa Rychert, says this is part of the goal of the new line.

“The needs of billions of players around the world are very diverse, while the existing offering is quite technical and often perceived as a masculine design, despite the fact that about 46% of the players are women,” says Rychert.

The new line of games from Ikea is now available in China. It will be released in Japan in May and will reach the rest of the world in October.
