Huawei may be in trouble due to trade restrictions imposed by the U.S., but the company is still doing its best to create attractive new products. After having a first look at the next flagship P50 Pro on New Year’s Eve 2020, the renowned hitter Steve Hemmerstoffer (better known as @OnLeaks) is back with more renderings that give us a much better idea of what the device will look like – get ready for an absolute collision unit of the camera.

OnLeaks reports that, like the latest flagships, the P50 Pro should come with a rear glass panel, flanked by a metal frame. The front and back of the phone must be flat. Regarding the dimensions, we’re supposed to be looking at 159 x 73 x 8.6 mm, or 10.3 mm with the included rear camera overhang – quite comparable to the P40 Pro with 168.2 mm in height and 72.6 mm in width . The screen is also in line with its predecessor, reportedly reaching 6.6 inches and boasting a spiked camera in the upper center. The frames seem almost nonexistent and appear more uniform at the top and bottom, although the rounded corners do not correspond to the radius of the case, creating a somewhat unique and peculiar design.

Although OnLeaks has no details to share about the camera’s hardware, the impact seems greater than on any phone in recent memory. By the appearance of the protruding oval set, we can obtain two absolutely huge lenses and a flash – a refreshing movement from manufacturers who try to pile up as many lenses as possible, even if they are useless. Huawei has always been among the leading innovators when it comes to camera hardware, so it will be very interesting to see what the company has created this time around. Of course, no matter how good the hardware is, the lack of Google apps and services will likely make it a difficult device to recommend to anyone looking for a regular Android experience.
