IO Interactive has several teams and at least one will continue to support Hitman 3 with post-release patches and DLC. However, Large warns that it is unlikely to include new levels, such as the Hitman 2 bank level in New York or Haven Island. Instead, the team is looking to use “existing locations and reimagine them, twisting them”.“We will definitely do some DLC, but we have not defined what it is,” said Large. “I think that, for now, we are not looking at new maps, like the bank and the island. We are looking more to use existing locations and reimagine them, twist them. And this time, we can use the entire trilogy. We can look at back to Hitman 2016 maps, Hitman 2 maps – we have all the locations. “
In our analysis of Hitman 3, we said “Rich, rewarding, and highly reproducible, Hitman 3 is a superb installment of IO’s idiosyncratic, but much loved series of stealth. The fundamentals haven’t changed since 2016, but his collection of excellent maps contributes to a refined, reliable and robust – close to the current Hitman trilogy. “
Hitman 3 has already recovered its costs in a week, so it’s no surprise that IO Interactive wants to continue to support it.
