Darren Uscher has been working at Auburn for three weeks. On Monday, his hiring was finally announced. That was his title.
Uscher is the new Auburn Recruitment Director.
For the past seven years or more, Uscher was one of Auburn’s football coaches Bryan Harsin’s most important and trusted employees at their previous stop, Boise State. With the Broncos, Uscher served as Director of Recruitment and Personnel of Players.
“Our recruitment process never stops and having a recruitment director like Darren, who keeps the process continuously moving and on track, is extremely critical to the success of Auburn football,” said Harsin in a statement. “Darren brings the ability to be in the moment and develop relationships with potential clients and their families, manage the recruitment needs of our team, while also working a step or two ahead as a must for recruitment in today’s environment.”
At Auburn, Uscher will oversee the Tigers’ day-to-day recruiting operations and will be heavily involved in managing the program’s escalation. Uscher was with Harsin throughout Harsin’s coaching period at Boise State (2013-20) and was a valuable part of the program.

Before joining the Georgetown team, Uscher worked as a marketing assistant in South Carolina. While working with the Gamecocks team, he helped create and execute marketing plans for football, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s soccer and female.
He also worked as an intern in South Carolina before being hired full time, and did an internship at the Washington Redskins of the National Football League and DC United of Major League Soccer.
Uscher received his bachelor’s degree in sports and entertainment management from South Carolina in 2009, and his master’s in sports industry management from Georgetown in 2013.
At Boise State, Uscher has developed a strong reputation due to his work ethic, organizational and assessment skills, sources say to Auburn Undercover.
