Green Bay Packers debutant AJ Dillon performed with the national audience with an incredible performance against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday night in a snowy Lambeau Field.
Dillon, the Packers’ choice in the second round, ran 21 times for a 124-yard career record and his first two NFL touchdowns during Green Bay’s 40-14 victory over the Titans. His first score came on the fourth down and covered 30 yards, putting the Packers ahead by 33-14 in the second half. His second moment involved a blow to a defensive attacker on his way to the final zone, delivering the dagger in the fourth period.
The victim of destruction at the end of the rookie’s game was the defensive side of the Titans Matt Dickerson, who was run over in Dillon’s path while trying to launch a block near the goal line.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dillon broke nine tackles, averaging 4.4 yards after contact and contributed seven runs that ended in touchdowns or first runs.
Dillon became the first Packers rookie to run for at least 120 yards and score at least two touchdowns in one game in the team’s history. He is only the 12th NFL rookie since 2015 to run 120 yards and score at least two touchdowns in a single match.
