A new HBO Max trailer revealed the seriously impressive Warner Bros. film series that will hit theaters and stream in 2021. Among them, we have a new look in The Suicide Squad and a first chance to see Mortal Kombat before reaching the end of this year.
The Suicide Squad, released in August, has several seconds of new footage. In one, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is shown fleeing a collapsing building. In another, Idris Elba’s Bloodsport comes face to face with John Cena’s Peacemaker – who also has his own HBO Max spin-off in development.
Then, in the breathtaking trailer, the first look at Mortal Kombat. No sign of fatalities yet, but there is a chance to get your eyes on what appears to be Sub-Zero in action. This arrives on April 16.
But this is not even half. In fact, there So much there, it is easy to ignore some of the things that just fell into our lap. Among them, the Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark was shown for the first time, with James Gandolfini’s son taking on the role of his late father as the iconic mobster.
Elsewhere, the stars are out – an extended scene from Space Jam 2 (featuring LeBron James and a certain Bugs Bunny) causes nostalgia to flow. Will Smith is seen playing the father of Venus and Serena Williams in King Richard, and Hugh Jackman’s dark science fiction film Reminiscence is also here.
Interestingly, there is even a brief tease from Matrix 4 … except that it is not called Matrix 4. Expect a new title to be announced soon, if applicable. Completing the mega list of films are Dune, The Little Things, Judas and the Black Messiah, Tom and Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong (who just released his first trailer), Those who wish me death, The Conjuring: The Devil made me Do It, In The Heights, Cry Macho, and James Wan’s Malignant.
