Batista is out of the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, but someone he once defeated in a Punjabi Prison Match will enter the two classes that will be honored in the program that airs on Tuesday, April 6 at Peacock.
In the Indian edition of WWE Now this morning (March 24), his former manager Ranjin Singh told The Great Khali that he is a Hall of Fame.
After starting professional wrestling with WCW and promotions in Japan and Mexico at the turn of the 21st century, Khali (real name Dalip Singh) signed with WWE in 2006. He was quickly transferred to the SmackDown brand, and – logically due to its 7 ‘Frame of 1 ”, 350 pounds – pushed like an unbeatable monster. Khali changed the three WWE brands at the time and rivaled the company’s biggest stars, including Undertaker and John Cena.
In 2007, he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a real battle when Edge was forced to vacate the belt due to an injury. Khali entered into a rivalry with Batista, where he lost the title to The Animal after a two-month reign.
Most of the rest of his WWE season was spent in comedy mode, the company often keeps its giants when they are not pushing them as unbeatable. This included a lot of working with celebrities during the Crude was the guest host and some fun stuff in partnership with Hornswoggle. He left WWE when his contract expired in 2014.
Since then, he has made sporadic returns to the company, mostly during the WWE title race of Jinder Mahal in 2017. His main job was as an ambassador for professional wrestling and WWE in India; its introduction comes months after WWE created its first event specifically for the Indian market with the Superstar Show Show.
The Great Khali remains an unforgettable presence, and this combined with his status as a former WWE world champion earned him membership in Vince McMahon’s club.
