At the end of last year, we reported that the Google Duo auto-fit feature was on its way for Samsung Galaxy devices. After the launch of the Galaxy S21 series, the official Twitter account for Android confirmed that the feature will indeed be available when the new devices become available later this month.
“Elevate your video chats a little more with Auto Framing in Google Duo, so you look your best when you meet the most important people,” Android account said.

If you don’t know, Google Duo’s auto-fit feature keeps users in front and center during video calls, so you can talk hands-free and do other things while talking to friends and family. It’s almost like having your own personal cameraman. The feature was exclusive to Pixel devices before it was released for Galaxy phones last year.
Interestingly, the Google Duo support page still says that auto-framing is unique to the Pixel 4, although that hasn’t been true for months. Google’s features tend to reach Samsung devices, so it’s not surprising to see the feature reaching the Galaxy S21 series. At that point, it would be nice to see Google make the feature available on all new Android devices.
The Galaxy S21 series was launched last week and is expected to be available on January 29. There is already a lot to like about the new devices, including features like WiFi 6E on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but with additional benefits like the Google Duo auto-feature feature makes the deal even better. This makes the experience more enjoyable and sophisticated.
With blocking restrictions still in place due to COVID-19, services like the Google Duo are more important than ever to stay in touch. If the auto-fit feature of the service is important to you, the Galaxy S21 is worth considering.
